Who is responsible for your data

The controller of your data is the publisher of MatchiMatchy, reachable at hello@matchimatchy.com for any question about your data.

What we collect

When you sign up: your email address, first name, date of birth and password, which we only keep in an irreversibly encrypted form. If you sign in with Apple, Google or Facebook, we receive your email address and first name.

In your profile, if you add them: your city and country, your presentation, your photos (public or private), your avatar, your questionnaire answers and your preferences in each universe (age, availability, sports and level, height, build, interests…).

In LOVE, if you give them: your gender and the gender of the people you want to meet. These are sensitive data: see below.

When you use the service: your likes, passes and matches, your messages, voice messages, stickers and shared photos, your date suggestions, your circles, your current mood, your reports and blocks, and your coins.

Your location, only if you allow it: we store it rounded to about 1 km. You can remove it at any time from your profile.

Technical data: a session cookie to keep you signed in, your language, the token that lets us send notifications to your phone, and your IP address, used for security and stored in a scrambled form in our security log.

Why we use them

To create and run your account, suggest compatible people and explain why, and run messages, dates, circles and the map.

For members’ safety: checking age, reviewing photos and reports, stopping abuse and answering a legal request.

To write to you when useful: confirming your address, resetting your password, telling you about a date suggestion.

We show no ads, we do not sell your data, and we use no audience measurement or advertising tracking.

Your sensitive data

Your gender and what you are looking for in LOVE are optional. They are encrypted in our database, never shown on your profile, never appear in another universe, and are only used to show you people who are looking for you too.

Being shown to someone still reveals what you are looking for. You can remove this information or hide your profile in LOVE at any time.

What other members see

Your first name, your age (never your date of birth), your city, a rounded distance (“within 5 km”), your approved photo or avatar, your presentation and what you have in common. Never your questionnaire answers.

On the map, your position is moved by 250 to 500 m, always in the same direction, so that it cannot be found.

Your private photos are only visible to the person you share them with, and you can withdraw that share. In Mystery mode, your private photo is revealed at each new match.

One universe never reveals that you are in another.

Your notifications

Notifications on your phone contain no first name and no message content, so a locked screen tells nothing to someone who sees it.

Our service providers

OVH hosts the service and sends our emails (servers in Canada). Google (Firebase) and Apple deliver notifications. OpenFreeMap provides the map tiles: your device downloads them directly, which sends it your IP address. If you choose to sign in with Apple, Google or Facebook, that service knows you use MatchiMatchy. When buying coins opens, payment will go through Flouci, and we will never see your card number.

These providers only use your data to provide this service to us.

Transfers outside Tunisia

Our servers are in Canada, and notifications go through Google and Apple services located in particular in the United States. These transfers are needed to run the service and are made with providers who commit to protecting the data.

How long we keep data

Your account and its data are kept as long as you use it. When you delete it, it is deactivated at once, then erased for good after 30 days.

Voice messages are erased after 30 days, and circles 30 days after their date.

The log of sensitive actions and reports are kept for members’ safety and to handle disputes. Database backups are replaced regularly: erased data may remain in them until they are replaced.

How we protect them

All connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are irreversibly encrypted and checked against known leaks. Sensitive data are encrypted in the database. Each photo is redrawn on upload, which removes its GPS location, then reviewed before it is visible. Photos and voice messages are only reachable through temporary links.

Your rights

You can view and correct your information in your profile, remove your location, hide your profile in a universe and delete your account at any time (see “Delete my account”).

To get a copy of your data, object to a use of it or ask a question, write to hello@matchimatchy.com from your account’s address. We answer within one month.

You can also contact Tunisia’s data protection authority, the INPDP.

Minimum age

MatchiMatchy is for people aged 18 and over. An account opened by someone younger is deleted as soon as we know.

Cookies

The website only uses a session cookie, to keep you signed in, and remembers your language. No advertising or audience-measurement cookies.

Changes

If this policy changes in an important way, we tell you in the app or by email before the change applies.
